The Tree of 40 Fruit: The Swiss Apple was presented at the World Economic Forum’s 50th Annual Meeting in Davos-Klosters, Switzerland as part of “Partnering with Nature” a collaborative exhibition between the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum, and the World Economic Forum. Held in the WEF Congress Centre and focused on sustainability and the human relationship to nature, two unique Tree of 40 Fruit were created that traced and preserved the history of the apple in Switzerland from its most primitive form, the Starnapi apple to early 20th century varieties. These two trees are now growing and producing heirloom apples at the WEF headquarters in Geneva.
