Sam Van Aken

i am here today

During the 1939 radio broadcast of War of The Worlds, a windmill in Grover’s Mills, New Jersey, where the aliens were purported to have landed, was mistakenly perceived as an alien ship as it was described in the radio hoax and fired upon by town residents. Using this actual tower and following its transubstantiation from a windmill to an alien ship, the tower was once again transformed, this time into a radio antenna where it was used to broadcast a series of staged hoaxes in the city of Buffalo, New York
